Areas We Cover

The county of Shropshire is nicely nestled between Cheshire and Herefordshire, think picturesque postcard villages, tonnes of history and stunning green rolling countryside’s. Shropshire is home to the most micro-breweries and some of our famous cask ales include the Shropshire Lad, Black Knight, Slumbering Monk, Cleric’s Cure and Norman’s Pride… but do you know what goes great with a refreshing ale… Hog Roast Condover’s classic hog roast of course!

The rolling hills of Shropshire are meant to have influenced JRR Tolkien’s vision of the Middle Earth in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy… and we can definitely understand why. Titterstone Clee is the county’s highest point, with it even picking up radio transmissions from Russia, if your event happens to be right at the top of this hill, don’t worry, Hog Roast Condover’s fully self-sufficient equipment with reach the highest points of Shropshire and even the world’s first skyscraper – Ditherington Flax Mill in Shrewsbury.

Shropshire is the home to some weird concoctions of foods, and we wouldn’t be able to mention weird foods without mentioning the ‘Shropshire Fidget Pie’ – cured boiled pig meat, onion, potatoes, semolina, apple and cider – the pie seems to have gone out of fashion but in the town Ludlow you can still find it. Here at Hog Roast Condover you can be safe in the knowledge that you wont have to try any of Shropshire unusual foods… unless you want to?!

In 1779 the world’s first iron bridge was built in east Shropshire, hence the town’s name Iron Bridge. This tourist hotspot is so impressive and puts a great time stamp on the birth of the Industrial Revolution in the Shropshire area. Above is a list of locations that Hog Roast Condover will travel to and have done event in before! If you’ve taken a look at our list and can’t find your event location, just pick up the phone and give us a call and one of our friendly members of staff will see what they can do! We want to make sure that our bespoke menus can reach everyone in the Shropshire area.
